our guest house La maison Laroze
in gevrey-chambertin

Never-ending story

The soul of the Drouhin-Laroze family has been associated with this 19th century property for several generations,

Many times, members of the Drouhin-Laroze family have walked the cobblestones in the courtyard of this Residence and its Notarial Hall.
It all started on the 29th of June 1972, the day this property was acquired by the Société d’Exploitation Drouhin-Laroze, represented by Bernard Drouhin.

Originally, this residence belonged to the artillery Colonel from Dijon, Officer of the Legion of Honor, Henri Rebourseau and his wife. In 1919, the property was passed to the hands of the Savioz-Lacombe couple who sold it to a notary in Gevrey-Chambertin, Maître Pierre-Eugène and his wife Suzanne Livera.
Upon acquisition, Bernard Drouhin naturally rented the hall of Maître Jeannin, the successor of the previous notary. As for the house, it became the living quarters of the director of the La Simel factory in Gevrey-Chambertin.

In the 1980’s, our Domaine acquired the property of Philippon-Rebourseau located at 2 rue du Chambertin, and to do so, Bernard accepted to sell the hall and Residence to Maître Jeannin. When he decided to retire in 2002, he sold the property to an English couple.
The Drouhin-Laroze family has continued to frequent this hall to sign all their notarial deeds: acquisitions, inheritances, marriages, etc. It is steeped in history, not only for our family, but for all the illustrious people of our village.
But history repeats itself, and at the beginning of the year 2022, the Drouhin-Laroze family seized the opportunity to reunite the two neighboring properties once again by purchasing the initial property of Bernard Drouhin. This acquisition was the occasion to complete the family wine estate activity by creating a vast site of character, a pleasant and elegant space dedicated to receptions and holiday accommodations.
